Bears D Leads The Way vs Chiefs

Week 1

Coming into the Week 1 matchup vs the Kansas City Chiefs the Bears Coaching Staff had one thing on their mind. How are we going to limit the big play ability of this Chief’s high powered offense. We knew containing Hill would be a chore and it was as he lead the Chiefs in receiving with 6 receptions, 141 yards and a TD. Instead we focused on not giving up the big plays in the ground game and to their rookie tailback Edwards-Helaire. In the passing game we focused in on Kelce and pretty much doubled him all game while trying not to get beat deep with Hill, Hardman and Watkins.

Eddie Jackson celebrates his 2nd Interception of Mahomes to seal the game.

Our focus offensively was to control the clock and rely on our defense and run game. The Chiefs Chris Jones pressured almost every throw Foles made and was a force up the middle in both the run game and passing game. Cohen managed to get some big runs which lead to 2 of his 3 touchdowns on the day. The passing attack wasn’t needed as Coach Shadez kept feeding Cohen the rock.

Looking forward to coming up with a scheme for our Week 2 opponent in CJ and his Seahawks.
